Cat Creek Hills

Since there is very little scope here the best part is the leisurely 10 minute stroll into this dark and mossy forest. Good solo bouldering spot or to end the day with a cool one. Best time being hot, hot summer or in the autumn when the meadow comes alive with blazing yellows. The cliffs above the boulder, visible from the road, may warrant a recon mission for obscure trad climbing.
Drive Hwy#40 and park at Cat Creek parking lot on the west side of the road.Walk up to the #40, walk south across the bridge and into the meadow. Follow old grassed-in highway toward the hills. When it heads off straight north, take a faint trail that gets better off right. Go up a slope and join back onto the grassy road at a sharp bend..Walk up the road about 75m and go right into the trees. you should be at the end of a big clearcut block with No Camping signs. Go straight into the forest staying right of many trees painted orange. As the cliff appears, keep straight and slip in rightward and eventually this tiny boulderfield appears. Cow and ancient trails are everywhere. Six Man Tent is 50-100m south of Trump Cabin.
A)Trump Cabin(V1) this is one of the best boulders described in this area and all 3 lines are brilliant fun as pulling the roof is simply beautiful moves on surprisingly solid rock. Downclimb the corner/tree to the right. Worth the walk!
1)Uncle Dave – SS on the cusp of the dirty face and move diagonally right into the roof and make great moves to pull over the juggy roof. Love it.
2)Cobbler - low start, go quick into the roof position, grab jugs and pull away.
3)Uncle Orson - SS, pull into the white patch and use nice horizontal cracks to align with the lower roof and pull through.
Easily missed. A pumpy cobbled group of overhangs seconds from the road. Most of the walls have been traversed in various combos. Mt. Storelk is above you. Park seven white road markers south of the Mount Lipsett Dayuse lot. On the large bend these are hard to see when going the speed limit. Impossible to see from the northbound lane. May be better to park further away and walk over-avoid onlookers.
Wal-Mart(V0) is the only line that currently tops out near the far right end of the group.
