Like Bearspaw sandstone, each visit will seem like an FA. The area is sensitive so act responsibly: stay on rutted paths, leave ciggies at home as the grass is highly flammable, pick up stray golf balls and garbage. Beware of loose rock and bring a pad as most probs SS (sit start)over prickles at times but there is fine flat places to sit the pad on.
From Country Hills Blvd. turn up Panorama Hills Blvd. then turn left onto Panorama Hills Drive and follow this for about 1.2km and park near a large open field.Walk up the paved bikepath west a few hundred meters to the overlook. Either quickly drop down a ridged path or follow the bikepath left a few hundred meters and look for a trail down to the cliffband. The best time to visit is a winter day as snow doesn’t last long here and it gets plenty of sun. Thankfully traffic is too far away to be an audience. Enough problems to fill and afternoon.
)this is the first boulder when descending down the hillside path about 25m north. SS, go up the nose over the overhang-fun.
)’Bikejump Boulder’-old wooden ramps left from wacko mtn.bikers. SS, up right side of ‘hang. Hard exit on exfoliating flakes.
)hike thru boulders.Traverse rounded wall to a crack then along easier rightside-kinda weird.
)three unclimbed overhangs or go up the slabby west wall. Feels exposed as a fall to the mat would sweep you away.
)up left snout of cone using good sidepulls but finish is sick slappers – may be the best line here when sent?
)’Big heuco Crack’-up easy crack to big heuco finish left, use for upper access.
)use left of two cracks and finish left over a horn jug.
)go up just left of cutaway overhang to jug, to horizontal crack and finish up exposed grey rounded topout a little to the right.
)up short wall to top rail then move out and over right of jutting rock surmounting it on the right.
)up ramp and rusty colored face, exiting left, not recommended. Huge roof prob above would be crazy but ugly fall factor.
)hike uphill. Left foot on left face, armjam crack, right appendages feel up slopers, exposed high step, exit bald topout.
)scramble small knob to avoid the dirt trail, kneebar the scoop, exit left of incuts-don’t bother chalking your hands, walk on.
)lowriding overhung sloper project on tall left wall.
)a.SS, go up neat porous ribs to blocks. b.Just right, go up to blocks. c.Line 2m right, over bulge to blocks.Try a traverse.
)SS up yellow rock on good holds. SS up yellow/rusty finger crack with face variation.
)hike up and right. Traverse blocky yellow overhang using toprail or try SS right and go over the top.
)’Dam Face”-hike 5 min. over to bikepath then up hill and down into hidden coulee. Up dirty knobs, traverse off.
)’Jason+Melissa?’ on north facing wall. Up holds on right side of painted names. Potential to right needs cleaning.
