Williams Coulee Boulder
The only known accessible boulder found in this scenic high and tight coulee is the one down below the road in the ditch. There is only room for a few select probs but it’s only 5m from the road.Works perfect if your in the area(why would you be!?). Don’t land on any dead animal carcasses! From K-Country, drive to Longview. Go 39km south to Chain Lakes. Go east on Hwy#533 for about 25km and at a 90 degree bend in the road, turn left off onto a rougher road and follow it for 1.5km – you should see a band of sandstone running the coulee top. Boulder is in south ditch and the rest are on private property.
*Have been here in nearly 10 years not sure if anything has changed regarding the road access or ditch its in.
Head Smashed In Boulder
These two tiny rocks good for a youngster to do an eliminate on is found east of Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump.
On #532, park at Teardrop Lake and walk up the ridge for 5 minutes to this traverse west wall. On the approach the rock looks bad but it is solid and crack-filled. Try the tower behind this wall to the east, not sure the quality of that though. For bored boulderers.
Little House on the Prairie Boulder
Established by southern Rockie local, info to come….
Maycroft Campground #5 Problem
This is a funny piece of prairie funk, solid and clean too. From Hwy #22, driving south, turn west onto the gravel road that heads for a few hundred meters into the Maycroft Campground along the river. If you went over the bridge you went too far. Near the toilet is campsite #5 and behind the table is a nice little sandstone wall. Climb the middle of the short but steep wall to great finishing jugs. Do some laps at a solid take-me-down-V0.
Unsure if the public can access this large overhung stone and one should check with locals before attempting to. Drive south from Cardston almost to the USA Border. Not far down Range Road #255 seen from the road.
