East Rawson Lake Ridge Loop
Many people hike up to the ridge to the west of Rawson Lake to get better views, but not many likely tromp up the west ridge and make a full loop. It is a pretty excursion minus the last third of the descent when it gets a bit leafy and a tuff bushwhack. Basically follow the trail up to Rawson Lake from the parking lot. Follow around the left bank and find an animal trail which eventually vanishes like usual up, up, up to the col leading to the northeast ridge of Mt.Sarrail. It may be easier to spot this animal trail by going over to that large boulder above the lake and seeing it through binos from there. Once upon the pleasant col with amazing views, hike back away from Mt.Sarrail along this unnamed ridge that has some nice exposure in spots, and follow it down into ever increasing forest back to Rawson Lake. Do not bail too early as the drop off is large below!
