The Crandell Forest
This is a group of faces just inside treeline on the bottom of Crandell Mountain in Waterton Park. Some may consider these in the big city limits of Waterton town! Park at a pullout about 300m north of the Park Warden/maintenance Compound, or 3/4km north of the Prince of Whales Hotel. Only one white boulder can be seen near the apex of the meadow. Cross the road, walk up the open meadow until you cross a horse trail. Follow it towards the Warden buildings. Once it enters the forest, walk uphill to the boulders that sit barely in the woods.(10 minutes from the car). The rock is mostly good and steep but with little room for more FA’s.
1)Vista Slab(V0) get into the bush and go up the nice slab.
2)Crandell Boulder(V2)beautiful face- either SS start left or right and go straight up on sweet moves.
3)Seizure Rock(V0) needs traffic! go up the right side of this steep grungy wall or traverse left to finish.
