The Descent Walls (Lorette Slabs Area)
routes by G.Cornell, Aug. 2002
Excellent stone that gives an upgrade to the old Lorette Slabs area and gives climbers coming off early on the east ridge of Lorette a little something to round out the day and break up the tedium of the descent. All routes have rap anchors. The route Boned-Up Crack and the two routes to its’ right are but 5m from the ground out descent trail but the two higher up left lines are 30m from the boot marks of the trail.
Loads of new sport lines could be fixed up here up to a 100m in height. From Stoney Trail, hike the trail up the Lorette descent gully about 200m past Lorette Slabs to the first route. A large cave is 100m beyond the last route.
Routes from Boned-Up Crack and the two to the east, are within 5m of the scree decent trail. The two routes further up and west are about 30m from the scree trail. Slabs have lots of potential as the rock is good and clean and nicely rough in spots.

5) My Side of the Mountain – 5.9, 25m 6 bolts. A tree stands to the right of this route
