The regional ice guide we have mentions this climb but leaves out whom did the first ascent, so that is why it is included here. It is a lovely little stand of ice to do with beginners and makes a pleasant finish to any day as the approach is only 15 minutes Park below Nakiska Ski hill in the parking lot for Barrier Lake. Follow old road/powerpoles. Walk down it until you see the small sign for Troll Falls. Tree anchors or walk off to the right.
Continue up the creek for 5 minutes to a second tier of ice called Marmot Falls. Can TR pillar to the left, and beware of the open pool here! Walk off far climbers right back down to the main tourist trail in.
